The 4Rs Asian Shopping Center Management
A general manager of a Singapore shopping mall and a business professor present a guide to native and international professionals and students who are or will soon be involved in the development and management of a shopping center in an Asian country. The four Rs in the title come from the authors' repeated use of "right" (i.e. "opening it right") in the main subject headings. Chapters guide readers through selecting a location, branding and positioning, balancing the types of tenants, planning retail space, renting and leasing, opening to the public, offering customer care, handling maintenance, and advertising. Also included are a survey of the different types of shopping centers, a section on contemporary issues in Asian shopping center management, and commentaries from practitioners in West Malaysia and Singapore on their experiences.
